Parish Registers of the Ev.-Luth. Landeskirche Hannover

The page for the preserved parish registers of the Lutheran church of Hannover keeps on growing. All 11 church districts (Einbeck, Göttingen-Nord, Göttingen-Stadt, Göttingen-Süde, Hohnstein, Herzberg, Holzminden, Münden, Northeim, Osterode and Uslar) of the Göttingen region - 176 parishes with 270 seperate parish registers - were added! All in all we now have information about the preserved records of 910 parishes of this church (1102 different parish registers) online!

Now there are only some parts of the Osnabrück region, the Emsland region (only a few Lutheran churches can be found in this catholic stronghold) and the city of Hannover have to be added.

If you discover any faults on this frequently used site or have any kind of additional information about the preserved holdings mentioned, please let us know. We will try to add corrections in order to have an accurate database about the preserved parish registers of this church – the dominant church in the territory of the former Kingdom of Hanover.

1852 Hanover Census – A key source for Hanover Research!

The pages of our census projects have been corrected completely. The publisher`s lists for the census booklets in print and the next ones planned has been updated and the family names for Amt (county-like district) Martfeld and the town of Bodenwerder were added to the Hanover Surname Index (HSI) of this Amt and the town of Bodenwerder.

New Design of our website

The disgn (fonts, background, etc.) of our website was changed and some new parts were added as well. We will keep on working on the shape of the website and hope to finish this process until this year.
