PARISH REGISTERS
of the "Evangelisch-Lutherische Kirche
Oldenburg"
Here you can find a list of presaved parish registers
of the dominating church in the northern part of the former Grand-Duchy of
Oldenburg (Lower Saxony). In most of the cases these parish registers are in
most of the cases accessable directly at the vicarages in their handwritten,
original shape. Nearly all of them (covering the time before 1800, for a number
of parishes until the 1810s or later) were filmed on microfiches as well and
are available for look ups at the Oberkirchenrat Oldenburg, Philosophenweg 8, D
- 26121 Oldenburg. Moreover, there are handwritten copies (so called
"Zweitschriften") from 1801 on, accessable at the State Archive
Oldenburg, Damm 43, D - 26122 Oldenburg (for the parishes of the church
district Jever and for Neuenkirchen such "Zweitschriften" only exist
from1825 on).
Please contact me if you find any faults
regarding the content - especially if you realize that any of the included data
is wrong or incomplete while doing research at the parish registers.
